SCOUT photos
This was a tricky shoot because we had to create 2 distinct looks for the same location in one shooting day and due to talent scheduling, we had to shoot during the day.
For most the night time shots we blacked out the set and didn’t show the window.
I wanted to make a square fixture above the treadmill and chose infinibars for their seamless look. We combined 4x PB12 bars for the square and 1x PM12 and 1x PB6 to make the 6’ bar above the bed. I couldn’t afford a condor to put lights outside, so the only light outside was the 600C on the roof, shooting through the skylight. Because we were shooting during the day, the 600C had to be “tented” to not let any daylight spill onto the set.
On the BTS picture above you can see the Ghost light. I have it labeled as a S60 on the light plan, but I believe we used a Pavo panel instead. This light moved a lot from shot to shot. And often worked in tandem with a LiteMat 4 or a Godox F800R which we often used with a 8x8 diffusion rag in front of it.
Ghost light + LiteMat4 providing the soft backlight.
For this shot for example, I believe we used the Godox F800R through 8x8 light grid or magic cloth as the key light. We shot this frame later in the day when the light outside was dying down, so we could take out our 20x20 solid and point the camera towards the window. The background was partially replaced with CG elements that made the outside world look more futuristic.
